Overview
Walker Family Dental is seeking a reliable and motivated dental assistant to join our team during a maternity leave period with the potential to stay on past the maternity leave time frame. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring efficient patient care and maintaining a welcoming environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of dental procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and staff.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general, pediatric dentistry and mild sedation.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
  • Perform medical documentation accurately, including patient histories and treatment records.
  • Manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, systems, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all aspects of patient interaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid dental assistant certification and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation practices and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (1-2 Friday's off a month)
