JOB SUMMARY:
This role focuses on clerical and customer service support within the laboratory, including critical value calling to communicate important lab results. The candidate will work under direct supervision, assisting laboratory technologists, leaders, and supervisors by performing select procedures on blood and other specimens using manual techniques or laboratory instruments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform select laboratory procedures per defined protocols.
- Assist in critical value calling to communicate urgent lab results.
- Provide clerical support and customer service within the laboratory.
- Operate laboratory instruments and utilize SunQuest and Epic for documentation and processing.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and data entry.
- Follow laboratory safety and compliance guidelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
- Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge of laboratory functions.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with SunQuest and Epic laboratory systems.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting.
