Walker Healthforce is seeking a Physician Reviewer for a healthcare client located remotely. This is a contract position.
START DATE: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Review requests for clinical services made by members and providers using established criteria.
- Provide clinical leadership within the organization, identifying opportunities to manage members' clinical situations creatively and proactively.
- Collaborate with case managers to practice anticipatory case management for members whose cases come for review.
- Engage in the appeal process for service denials within the Physician Review Unit.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the Physician Review Unit.
- Actively participate in continuous quality improvement activities within the unit.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Medical Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Board Certified (ABMS) M.D. or D.O, unrestricted and active license to practice medicine
- 5 years clinical experience to include inpatient experience
- Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook etc.)
