Walker Healthforce is seeking a Referral Specialist II for a healthcare client located in Durham, NC. This is a contract position.
START DATE: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assigned to a strategic client facility across the U.S.
- Manages referral send-out work to Laboratories
- Provides onsite customer service and acts as a resource for the client’s clinical laboratory staff.
- Manages biological specimens, including receipt, verification, handling, aliquoting, processing, and shipping if applicable.
- Resolves order and specimen issues while communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitors assigned reports and interacts with clients to resolve specimen submission issues.
- Maintains supply inventory and ensures necessary materials are available.
- Handles tasks such as pending lists, billing charges, Joint Test Catalog maintenance, quality metrics, and staff training.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years' work experience including laboratory and/or other relevant experience
- Active NC Driver's License
- Excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with others is essential
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality handling results, patient information and business interactions
- Organized and capable of prioritizing work with limited oversight
- Must possess good human relations skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
- Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling chemicals and infectious agents
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous laboratory experience
