These services are offered through; Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services.

Summary of position: Provide clinical case management and ongoing clinical services to the CBAT youth and families at Walker’s Needham Campus; provide clinical consultation to direct care and educational staff; provide ongoing assessment, treatment planning, goal focused short-term treatment, and discharge planning for assigned youth. Must be committed to child centered, family focused, culturally competent care and strengths-based treatment.

Education and Licensure

Required: Candidate must possess a Master’s degree ina relevant discipline such as: Psychology, Counseling Psychology or Social Work

Valid driver’s license to drive in Massachusetts

Preferred: LCSW, LICSW or LMHC

Experience

Required: Experience in therapeutic treatment with latency aged children and their families, proficiency in use of computer systems for clinical information management, excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to produce written reports in a timely manner.

Preferred: Experience with assessment, goal focused treatment planning, TCI (therapeutic crisis intervention) and evidence-based treatment modalities. Previous clinical work in short term settings, family-based treatment or residential treatment.

Abilities Required:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to respond to and follow through with requests professionally.
  • Ability to respond to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to sit at work station for prolonged periods of time, consistent with OSHA suggestions and requirements.
  • Must have the ability to access different building locations, equipment, mailboxes, etc.
  • Must have ability to access off campus programs.
  • Must have ability to lift packages up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to complete all components of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Essential functions:

  • Provides a safe and productive therapeutic environment for youth
  • Provides a family friendly, respectful, and therapeutic environment for families
  • Promotes confidence and perseverance in all family members so that they can meet standards that are high, yet realistic
  • Is able to effectively work with youth to promote therapeutic growth and positive change
  • Collaborates effectively with Walker treatment team and outside providers to provide a high standard of continual care
  • Uses a variety of treatment modalities effectively to assess the abilities of youth and make appropriate recommendations for future care
  • Stays up to date on current research in clinical modalities in order to provide the best therapy services to children and families
  • Manage case load of 5-6 children assigned by CBAT Director or designee.
  • Interface with macro-systems including DCF, DMH, LEA, CBHI, and insurance providers
  • Work collaboratively with the CBAT treatment team to develop and implement clinical services to CBAT youth
  • Attend clinical staff meetings, and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Provide on-going written assessments and documentation in a timely manner, including treatment plans, recommendations, and discharge summaries for assigned youth
  • Provide individual, and group therapy
  • Provide family therapy
  • On-call coverage, as assigned
  • Provide consultation and support to direct care staff
  • Maintain regularly scheduled contact with all collaterals, complete all case management tasks and conduct insurance reviews in timely manner
  • Conduct crisis evaluation screening and admission assessments as assigned by the CBAT Director
  • Provide crisis stabilization and support to youth as needed
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Supervision to be received: Weekly individual supervision provided by CBAT Program Director or designee

Supervision to be exercised: Intern or BSW supervision as assigned
