The Safety Supervisor will play a pivotal role in driving safety excellence at our Amargosa Valley location, ensuring compliance with MSHA standards and fostering a culture of safety.
About the Role
- This individual contributor position requires strong leadership to influence safety practices across the site while being hands-on in training, compliance, and incident management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure MSHA compliance through training, reporting, and documentation.
- Conduct safety audits and lead site safety committees.
- Investigate incidents and provide strategic insights for preventative measures.
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training sessions.
- Collaborate on safety considerations for capital projects and site upgrades.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5–7 years in safety management, specifically in mining, aggregates, or related heavy manufacturing industries.
- MSHA Parts 46 & 48 certification required.
- Leadership, training facilitation, public speaking, compliance expertise, and a collaborative approach to building trust.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of limestone/mineral mining operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as fall protection, lockout/tagout, and emergency response.
