About the Role
As the Safety Supervisor, you'll oversee comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with MSHA standards and fostering a culture of safety excellence. This individual contributor role requires strong leadership to influence safety practices across the site while being hands-on in training, compliance, and incident management.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensure MSHA compliance through training, reporting, and documentation.
Conduct safety audits and lead site safety committees.
Investigate incidents and provide strategic insights for preventative measures.
Develop and deliver engaging safety training sessions.
Collaborate on safety considerations for capital projects and site upgrades.
Site Details :
Montevallo (primary site, 80% of time) and Brierfield locations.
Teams of 82 and 28 employees, respectively.
Exposure to cutting-edge equipment and ongoing site expansions.
What We’re Looking For
Experience : 5–7 years in safety management, specifically in mining, aggregates, or related heavy manufacturing industries.
Certification : MSHA Parts 46 & 48 required.
Skills : Leadership, training facilitation, compliance expertise, and a collaborative approach to building trust.
Attributes : Ability to thrive in challenging environments, managing multiple priorities while maintaining safety as a top priority.
Preferred Experience :
Knowledge of limestone / mineral mining operations.
Familiarity with safety standards such as fall protection, lockout / tagout, and emergency response.
