Job Summary
The Safety Supervisor role at Walker Lovell is a key position within our organization. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for driving safety excellence across our Ocala, FL location. This involves overseeing comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with MSHA standards, and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance employees' understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety audits and lead safety committees to identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly, providing strategic insights to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate safety considerations into capital projects and site upgrades.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in safety management, specifically in mining, aggregates, or related heavy manufacturing industries.
- MSHA Parts 46 & 48 certification is mandatory.
- Leadership skills, training facilitation expertise, and a collaborative approach to building trust among team members.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities while prioritizing safety above all else.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with limestone/mineral mining operations.
