Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Position Overview: Walker Products, a leading Automotive Aftermarket manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team in Fruita, Colorado. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes, as well as supporting production activities by running secondary screw machine equipment during downtime. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in manufacturing and shipping, the ability to lift at least 50 lbs, and be able to work on their feet for an 8-hour shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all products are accurately received and shipped.
- Verify and inspect products for quality and quantity, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Organize and store received products in appropriate areas for easy access and inventory control.
- Prepare shipments for delivery, including packaging, labeling, and generating shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external carriers to ensure timely deliveries and shipments.
- Secondary Screw Machine Operation:
- Operate secondary screw machine equipment during downtime to support production and ensure maximum efficiency.
- Perform routine checks, adjustments, and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor machine issues to minimize production delays.
- Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and work on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following company safety procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or manufacturing is required.
- Experience with screw machine equipment or willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (preferred, but training can be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- The role is based in a manufacturing environment, where you will work in various areas such as shipping/receiving and production.
- You may be required to wear safety equipment such as steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing protection when necessary.
