Walker Rehabilitation Center in Carbon Hill, Al is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct regular surveillance of infections within the facility, utilizing data management techniques to track trends and outbreaks.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education on infection prevention strategies and promote adherence to protocols.
- Perform patient observations to identify potential risks for infection and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Participate in research data collection related to infection control initiatives and outcomes.
- Lead training sessions for staff on infection prevention practices, ensuring a culture of safety within the organization.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging infectious diseases and relevant regulations affecting assisted living environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred.
- Experience in assisted living or healthcare settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) requirements as they pertain to infection prevention.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence change among diverse teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and provide clear guidance on infection control practices.
