The Banquet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Banquet department, ensuring product quality, consistency, employee development, and meeting guest service standards. Essential Functions:
- Develop service standards and implement those standards for the department. Accurately set up and successfully execute events according to established guidelines and expectations (BEOs).
- Must demonstrate accommodating tendencies and flexibility to meet guest expectations. Must be available to work a flexible schedule and attend events at varying times and days, especially weekends. Accurately document and account for all charges in a timely manner and in accordance with set expectations. Ensure guest bills are accurate and submitted timely.
- Ensure employee tips/gratuity charges are documented, accounted for, and processed for payment in a timely manner. Appropriately manage staffing levels in an effective manner and in accordance with company guidelines and expectations to meet business volumes. Evaluate and track costs associated with event operations and recommend changes or corrective action if necessary. Ensure compliance with all company and department of health rules and regulations. Monitor and maintain all outlet sanitation, storage, and rotation of inventory. Develop cost-related parameters. Maintain expenses to meet budgeted or forecasted goals. Responsible for fast and efficient functionality and service of events. Must be able to obtain all necessary licenses as required by local, state, and federal governments.
- Responsible for all relevant inventories including rotation, par levels, physical inventory, and discontinued items. Provide exceptional guest service for all external and internal customers. Responsible for the operation of the Banquet department, successful performance of employees, and a favorable guest experience. Responsible for effectively managing, delegating duties, and the performance and development of department staff; inclusive of interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and termination of staff. Manage expenses based on budgeted guidelines and business volumes to include payroll and staffing levels.
Required:
- Must have extensive Banquet service knowledge.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule and attend events at varying times and days, especially weekends.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures and in an interruptive environment.
Schedule:
Full-time that varies based on events and holidays and includes days, nights and weekends.
