Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic Assistant will oversee the performance and maintenance of all production and facility machinery. Even if you don’t check all of the boxes, but you are eager to learn, we would love for you to apply!
Duties/Responsibilities
· Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure their proper functionality.
· Conduct inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
· Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical problems and develop effective solutions to minimize downtime.
· Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide timely resolution.
· Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of machinery and reduce the risk of unexpected failures.
· Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report findings to the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation of new equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
· Collaborate with other departments to coordinate equipment installations and relocations
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
· Identify and address potential safety hazards in the workplace
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment history.
· Provide documentation for management and compliance purposes.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to achieve overall operational goals.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other team members.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
· Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance best practices.
· Light Welding and machining experience preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
· Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
· Must be able to visually inspect machines.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
