Entry Level Testing Technician (construction materials testing)

Work as a member of our construction materials testing staff. Perform quality control testing during construction of buildings, streets and other structures. We test concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, masonry and steel to determine compliance with project plans and specifications. The testing is performed both at the job site and in materials laboratory.

You will be assigned a pickup and various testing equipment after receiving training and becoming qualified at various test procedures. The training will be provided by members of our experienced materials testing team, our engineers or various outside agencies.

We are looking for someone that shows up on time and does not mind working hard in all types of weather. To keep up with our client and contractor work schedules, you may be required to start early on certain days and work an occasional Saturday. A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected and overtime maybe necessary.

No previous construction materials testing experience is required for this position. We will train someone with the right attitude, is motivated and is willing to learn and be challenged. You should have strong math, verbal and writing skills along with the ability to, or learn to, read construction plans and specifications. Preference will be given to applicants with construction experience.

Job Requirements

The position requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. You must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Some overnight travel may be required with position.

Pay: $43,469.71 - $52,350.62 per year
