As a Production Control Assistant (Floor Supervisor or Floor Manager), you will oversee the operations on the shop floor, ensuring that daily tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and according to company standards. You will supervise staff, monitor productivity, resolve issues, and ensure that customer or production requirements are met. Your role is essential in maintaining an organized, productive, and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Staff Management:
· Supervise and manage floor staff to ensure all shop employees are clocked into the correct job
· Watching the ERP Module “Real Time Personnel” to monitor the clock ins
· Keep everyone both clocked in and filling out ECRs and making sure they are being addressed live
· They MUST be walking the floor 100% of the time and policing this
· Directing employees to the right channels when they have questions
· Train, guide, and motivate employees to maintain high productivity and work quality.
· Monitor staff performance, providing feedback, coaching, and corrective action when needed.
· Ensure that staff are following safety protocols and company policies.
- Production/Operations Monitoring:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations on the shop floor, ensuring that production or sales targets are met.
· Ensure all processes are running smoothly and resolve any issues or delays in the workflow.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting efficiency and safety.
- Quality Control and Compliance:
· Ensure that production or service standards are being met, conducting quality checks as needed.
· Ensure that operations are compliant with company standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
· Maintain records related to quality control, safety checks, and staff performance.
- Coordination and Communication:
· Communicate regularly with upper management regarding floor operations, staff issues, and any areas for improvement.
· Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, procurement, customer service) to ensure that needs are met and operations remain on schedule.
· Provide detailed reports on daily operations, including productivity, inventory, and any challenges faced.
- Problem Solving:
· Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks or challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the workflow.
· Address and resolve any employee or customer-related issues promptly.
· Anticipate potential problems and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with production scheduling and inventory management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other production software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
