Job Description
Wall Panel Systems is currently looking for an Estimator to joint our team. The Estimator, who works under direction and guidance of the Senior Estimator, assists in the preparation of estimating packages in relation to quantity take offs, sub trade solicitation and document control. The Estimator assists with estimating activities involved in preparing budgets, cost studies, and competitive bids.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in reading and understanding Architectural plan-sets, experience working with PDF, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Job Duties:
- Related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience in construction or architectural field.
- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office and any related estimating software (may include Bluebeam, MS Project,)
- Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
- Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures
- Capable of proactively participating in discussions, asking questions and thinking critically, ensuring understanding and providing explanations clearly and precisely
- Willing to work cooperatively with others to achieve team goals and objectives
- Complete a thorough review of the plans and specs and create an accurate takeoff clearly identifying the panel dimensions, quantity, thickness, fire rating class, system, color & plan pages of floor plan and elevations. Mark and highlight all plan pages (floor plan, elevations or finish schedule) where WPS Scope of Work is indicated and attach to every estimate.
- Develop a time schedule and priority list for work to be accomplished.
- Review Project Specifications for bid requirements and prepare estimate accordingly.
- Prepare optimization, nesting, and cut list to enter into excel estimate templates for review by Senior Estimator.
- Follow up with the sub-contractor or general contractor for bid status, updates, and track opportunities in Sales Force or similar CRM system.
- Able to pass drug-test and Clean criminal background check
Qualifications
· Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
· Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
· Millwork/cabinetry background preferred (not a requirement)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
