Job Title: Investment research Buy-side Associate / Snr Associate
Location: NYC/Midtown
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Investment research across cap structures with a macro-aware approach and fundamental research process
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including modeling, valuation, and risk assessment of investment opportunities.
- Identify de-risked, mid-priced securities with asymmetric return profiles, under-appreciated intricacies to their capital structures, and catalysts to drive returns
- Perform detailed industry and company research, tracking market trends, competitive landscapes, and macroeconomic factors.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate potential investments, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
- Support investment due diligence by analyzing financial statements, capital structures, and key performance indicators.
- Prepare high-quality investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and portfolio managers in identifying and monitoring portfolio investments.
- Engage with management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts to gain insights into investment opportunities.
- Track and analyze credit markets, high-yield debt, and leveraged loan trends to identify risk-adjusted return opportunities.
- Assist in the execution of transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and deal execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation (or progress toward) is a plus.
- Completion of an Investment banking training program or leveraged finance experience is highly preferred
- 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, credit investing, or a similar research-intensive role.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial information into concise reports.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, credit analysis, and investment fundamentals.
Salary : $350,000 - $600,000
