Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the Finance Director by assisting with financial reporting, projections, and tracking of the companys financial performance across multiple products and platforms. This full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliation, and accounts receivable processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Additionally, the Staff Accountant provides customer service for advertising and circulation clients, processes payments, and reconciles daily cash receipts. The role also involves financial modeling, analysis, and assisting with month-end financial close.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting (or an Associates degree with at least 2 years of experience), strong general ledger knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and excellent organizational and analytical skills.
The position operates in a hybrid capacity at the Walla Walla Union Bulletin, with minimal travel to Yakima, if ever. Meeting deadlines, especially for month-end close, inventory, and revenue reporting, is critical.
