About the Role
Wallaby Search & Placement is seeking a talented and driven Operational Accountant to join Made to Order Holdings’ Griffin-based team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing accounting support for the company’s multiple locations.
This role focuses on supporting the business's operations, maintaining and reconciling general ledger and bank accounts, maintaining, supporting and reconciling store financial systems, and creating and implementing critical financial operational control procedures. This position leads the way to providing a clear picture of the operational and financial performance of the company.

Made to Order Holdings, LLC, is a licensed Whataburger franchisee that has the exclusive rights to develop and operate locations in Georgia. Sponsored by its well-capitalized ownership group, Made to Order Holdings has opened 3 Whataburger locations in the past year, and plans to open 40 stores over the next 5-7 years, with an eye towards acquiring additional territories going forward. This venture will bring one of the nation’s most beloved QSR brands to the Atlanta area and beyond.
You Will
- Record and reconcile all journal entries for multiple restaurant locations and intercompany allocations, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial records
- Perform monthly reconciliations of key general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of postings, and research and reconcile discrepancies
- Prepare individual and combined financial statements, including P&Ls, for up to 40 store operations and real estate entities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Prepare monthly financial highlights and comprehensive financial Management reporting, offering analysis and recommendations to senior management and ownership for informed decision-making
- Track and monitor fixed assets, manage depreciation, retirement and disposal, and maintain records accordingly
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors. Reconcile accounts payable and maintain relationships with suppliers across locations
- Analyze and report food, labor, and operational costs for each location, ensuring that financial systems reconcile and report accurate data
- Lead weekly financial update meetings related to operational results, and work closely with restaurant managers and above store leadership to optimize spending and reduce waste
- Perform monthly revenue reconciliations and file sales/use tax returns
- Assist Accounting leadership in managing year-end financial statement audits and tax return preparation
You Have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of operational accounting experience, preferably within the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries (experience handling multiple locations a significant advantage)
- Advanced Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills
- A working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with general ledger systems, Point of Sale systems, and above-store systems
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and opportunities for financial improvement
