What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Wallenius Wilhelmsen?
The HR Manager is both a strategic and hands-on contributor aligning business objectives with effective employee relations strategy. The HR Manager serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues and will act as the employee advocate and change agent. In collaboration with others, the HR Manager drives a positive employee experience throughout the full employee lifecycle. The HR Manager will also champion WWL’s culture and values.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Consult and advise managers and staff on a wide range of employee lifecycle issues.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and ensures appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
- Provides day to day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation.
- Oversee HRIS administration, timekeeping/payroll, benefits administration, employee safety, and leave management.
- Provides effective and efficient talent acquisition and retention support.
- Team member leadership and development.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field.
- 5 years of strategic and operational HR experience with responsibility for labor relations in a unionized production environment.
- Demonstrated experience in resolving complex employee relation issues.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
- Clear communication style, written and verbal, English fluency is a must
- Influencing skills and interfacing with senior members of the business.
- Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
