Rail Loader / Railcar Repair Tech
We are currently seeking a Rail Loader / Railcar Repair Tech to join the team! Love working with cars? Do you have welding, mechanical or rail experience?
Must have any AWS welding certification.
Within 90 days You will need to be able to pass AWS D15.1 and obtain your certification. We will pay for your testing.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Repairs, modifies, upgrades and maintains rail cars.
- Prepare railcars for shipment, opening and closing railcar doors, setting bridge plates, blowing trash out of railcars, chocking vehicles, chock replacement
- Load and unload vehicles onto railcars in compliance with company quality standards
- Prepare railcars for shipment by setting bridge plates, chocking vehicles, and ensuring vehicles are properly spaced / secured
- Perform repair and maintenance work : welding, metal cutting, etc.
- Operates forklift to move, align, and set in place parts in place
- Maintain buck loader / ramps-lubing railcars, graphite door tracks, and other moving mechanical parts, etc.
- Conduct monthly inspections on equipment as needed
- Approximate breakdown of duties : welding 10%, mechanical labor 40%, rail loading 50%

The current starting hourly pay for this position is $25.00 - $30.00. Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and / or benefit plans.
