As VP Accounting and Financial Control Americas, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic financial oversight across our Americas region. Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
As the VP Accounting and Financial Control, you’ll work closely with the global team of Accounting and Financial Control reporting to the SVP, Global Accounting & Financial Control supporting the Americas region.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Accurate and timely financial reporting to the group in accordance with group accounting policies (IFRS) and maintain adequate internal control of financial reporting (ICFR) in the group entities in the region.
- Ensure compliance with group internal control and accounting principles and policies
- Manage competence, skills, and resource allocation within the regional A&FC functions
- Oversee that local entities are submitting statutory financial reports and tax returns on time and with high quality
- Oversee Value Added Tax/Goods and Services Tax as well as similar reporting and compliance for group entities in the region
- Manage the invoicing for the logistics business in the region and drive continuous improvement of days sales outstanding (DSO), accounts receivable, and working capital
- Collaborate with business managers and other functions as well as business performance teams to drive change and continuous improvement
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification is a requirement
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including substantial experience in relevant roles from global listed companies that report in accordance with IFRS.
- 7-10 years’ experience managing the employee lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, development, terminations, moves.
- Very strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting, and financial control
- Strong understanding of financial systems, automation, and process improvement
- Demonstrated record of success in leading and inspiring a strong team across businesses, focused on capability building of employees and the business
