The Yard Attendant is responsible for accurately loading out cargo and maintaining terminal records for cargo loaded out / taken in as well as work orders associated with said cargo.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintains yard organization by monitoring and controlling truck que areas
- Checks off paperwork and locates cargo in the field for equipment operators to load
- Is a spotter for equipment operators
- Updates terminal system through handheld devices with cargo locations and work orders
- Updates terminal system with different equipment used for different types of cargo
- May train new employees recommend changes and develop processes
- Ensures the department adheres to safety and quality standards
- Performs other job duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional shop / yard environment. Frequent exposure to the elements (such as dust, dirt, rain,) and chemicals (such as fumes and fluids) occur during operation of construction and agricultural equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc. This position will utilize standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printer / copiers.
