Job Listing: Assistant:
Family dental practice looking for an exceptional, friendly, team oriented Dental Assistant. Our dental assistants perform a wide variety of tasks in the office for patient care, as well as some administrative, and laboratory duties. They are responsible for preparing the treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures. The ideal assistant is outgoing and friendly and makes the patient as comfortable as possible in the dental chair. He or she prepares patients for treatment, gathers their dental records, and instructs patients on postoperative and general oral health care. They prepare materials for impressions and restorations, patient charting, and take dental x-rays. He or she also helps with office duties that support the entire team, including ordering and organization of clinical supplies, keeping clinical areas and lab areas clean and organized, and scheduling follow up appointments.
The ideal candidate has two years of experience. Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Instrument sterilization and preparation for a variety of dental procedures.
Cleaning and disinfection of operatories after each appointment and setting up for the next patient in a timely manner.
Help and assist dentist during procedures: suctioning, handling and preparation of materials and instruments, taking digital dental x-rays, taking impressions, pouring models.
Help manage and gather patient’s medical and dental records.
Help make patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified to take dental x-rays
Two years of experience preferred
Dependable and professional
Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, staff, vendors, and others
Strong computer skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
