WSARC is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated swim coach to join our team this summer and help athletes reach their full potential.
Job Description:
As a summer swim coach, you will be responsible for planning and conducting swim practices, teaching stroke techniques, and providing motivation to swimmers. You will work with swimmers ranging from beginners to more advanced athletes, helping them improve their skills, endurance, and confidence in the water.
Position runs during summer swim season, 5/27/2025-8/1/2025.
Responsibilities
- Help plan and lead daily swim practices for various age groups and skill levels.
- Teach and reinforce proper swim techniques for different strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).
- Create a positive, encouraging environment to help swimmers build self-confidence and team spirit.
- Assess individual swimmers' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a safe and fun learning environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with swim meet preparation, including warm-ups, events, and coaching during competitions.
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding swimmer progress and any concerns.
- Be available for all swim meets and activities. Applicants should expect to be available for morning and evening practices and meets, Monday through Friday.
Skills
- Previous coaching or competitive swimming experience required.
- Strong knowledge of swim strokes, techniques, and training methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate swimmers and create a positive team atmosphere.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
- Ability to work well with children and young athletes.
- Experience with swim meet preparation (Meet Manager, Team Manager can be taught upon hiring) and coaching during competitions a plus.
- Ability to plan and implement training programs tailored to individual swimmers.
- Applicants should be over 18 years of age.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
