Qualifications - Lending Assistant
- Associate's Degree or higher
- At least 6monthd - 1 year of relevant lending experience
- Computer skills required: High level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of lending operations and closing procedures.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts to apply math concepts.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and approaches for accomplishing assignments
Responsibilities - Lending Assistant
- Process documents received for each file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document.
- Prepare draw requests on lines of credit, commercial loans and on real estate construction loan files.
- Prepare loan cancellations/denials and adverse action letters.
- Prepare and maintains files, databases, records, and the “applications in process/pipeline reports” for the loan officer.
- Order business entity searches in gathering any documents needed for loan processing.
- Tracks documents including hazard insurance, flood insurance, vehicle titles, UCC filings, and financial statements.
- Assist customers on the closing of loans.
- Assist in coordinating loans with escrow companies, customers and other lenders.
- Remain current on government regulations related to lending and internal policies.
- Act as secondary contact in order to enhance customer relationship.
- Assist customers with general loan related questions.
- Assist in the resolution of daily NSF issues.
- Assist on loan portfolios for collateral and financial exceptions.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries as well as prepare outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
- Effectively communicate with title companies and customers by phone and in person to coordinate a loan closing.
- Assist loan officer with expense reports.
- Attain clear to close and insurance clearance from loan operations.
- Prepares Consumer Identification Program form (CIP) and beneficial ownership (BOF).
- Completes annual required compliance training.
- Must be willing to participate in at least one CRA related event.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
