General Summary
Responsible for in the manufacturing and assembling of windows and/or door walls working in one of four areas – Shipping & Receiving, Frames (windows), Sashes (windows), or Doorwall/Casements (positions are interchangeable to some extent).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Production/Assembly of windows or doorwalls.
- Operating machinery, equipment and tools used in the window manufacturing process.
- Repetitive movements including grasping, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, etc.
- Stocking and cleaning of the workspace and general areas.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-past, team-oriented environment, meeting quality and quantity deadlines.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with others.
- Preferably a basic familiarity of a manufacturing environment and processes and a basic math and computer skills and the ability to read a tape measure is a plus; however, Wallside is willing to train in these areas.
Work Environment
- Position works inside with temperature fluctuations, somewhat reflective of seasonal temperatures – hot/cold, humid/dry, dust; high noise levels from machinery and equipment; required to wear personal protective equipment on a regular basis (hearing and eye protection; other PPE as needed).
- Typical shift will be Monday – Friday; 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (subject to change based on workload at the discretion of the Company). Extended/Saturday hours will be required.
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking for the entire shift (on average, 8 –10 hours per day).
- Fine hand manipulation including, grasping and squeezing.
- Ability to move and lift product, upwards of 25 lbs. or more on a regular basis, occasionally lifting and/or moving 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to bend, twist, push and pull on a regular basis.
The shifts in the factory is 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mandatory OT and Saturdays may be required based on work load. Saturday start time is also 5:00 a.m.
