Valley Imports, a subsidiary of Wallwork, Inc., is currently searching for a driven, enthusiastic Inventory Specialist for our Parts department to work M-S, 6am- 4pm; weekend work required as needed for inventory purposes. Pay ranges from $20 to $23/hr. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the returns of automotive parts, ensuring accurate processing of returns, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role is essential in supporting the parts department's operations and enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective handling of returns and claims.
JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for ordering and receipting parts, filing shortage, overage and damage claims, matching purchase orders to invoices, approve and forward to office for payment, track credits, ensure warranty parts are returned when requested. They apply for manufacturers parts and core returns, keep display areas clean orderly and stocked and assist with Parts Department telephone coverage. Other duties may be assigned by the Parts Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Inventory experience is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently as well as be a team player with the department.
- Detailed oriented.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):
- No supervision responsibilities required with this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
- Verify invoices and assist parts drivers in loading trucks in the morning.
- Return parts, file damage claims, and complete core credits.
- Take return parts back to each stock room, ensuring proper location assignment.
- Move cores to the designated cores area.
- Assist customers seeking credit for returned parts.
- File damage claims and ensure reimbursement from manufacturers.
- Pull obsolete parts for return to manufacturers or for scrapping.
- Prepare shipments for cores or returns.
- Clean up cardboard and maintain a tidy work area, ensuring walkways are clear of debris.
- Handle cores with customers, ensuring correct returns.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Parts Director or other managers.
- Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
- Performs Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor
