Software Engineer III – Backend (Java)

What You’ll Do:
As a Software Engineer III at Walmart Global Tech, you’ll play a key role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You’ll work across multiple domains and contribute to the development of scalable, high-performance services critical to Walmart’s digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support Walmart’s digital experiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful features.
- Build scalable, reliable systems capable of handling high volumes of traffic and data.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to engineering best practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across various environments.
- Contribute to performance optimization, security enhancements, and system resilience.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with Java technologies, distributed systems, and large-scale application design and development.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, and Cassandra.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Solid knowledge of multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to develop robust, high-performance, and scalable applications.
Salary : $117,000 - $234,000
