Job Description

Merchandise Reconciliation Associate

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.

Essential Functions
A n individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Maintains the claims and hazardous waste storage area in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns; zoning the area; arranging and organizing merchandise/supplies; identifying shrink and damages; and ensuring a safe work environment.

Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Receives and stocks supplies from distribution centers and vendors throughout the facility and organizes and maintains area of responsibility by following company procedures; utilizing equipment appropriately; and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation

(for example, compliance documents).

Supervises associates in the claims area by assigning duties; communicating goals; providing feedback and follow-up; monitoring performance; teaching and supporting company policies and procedures; ensuring compliance; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates.

Prepares and processes defective or damaged merchandise by identifying, packaging, labeling and ultimately returning or managing merchandise, to include hazardous materials, per company policies/procedures; auditing claims boxes to ensure the contents in the box matches the documentation; tracking claims to ensure proper credit is received by facility; communicating with suppliers and vendors; and completing required inspections, documentation and reports.

Receives and monitors merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and vendors by managing vendor access; submitting warehouse mislabels; auditing merchandise received; tracking return center, recalled, and damaged claims to ensure proper credit is received by the store; finalizing reports and logs; and communicating with vendors.

Provides support for the facility by generating reports; and researching merchandise inventory issues and discrepancies (for example, invoices).

Identifies poor inventory practices and low in-stock levels in assigned area, and reports them with ideas for corrective action. Demonstrates and helps others with the safe and proper use and maintenance of inventory tools and equipment.

Office:Advises others on office equipment and services when asked to do so. Processes and submits paperwork, creates and maintains organized files, and identifies and resolves any discrepancies in files and records in a timely manner. Reports incorrect or inefficient office processes. Uses office equipment and stocks supplies correctly.

Stocking/Receiving:Follows proper procedures to prevent theft and loss when stocking, receiving, maintaining, and securing goods. Receives, stages, and delivers goods to appropriate areas throughout the Facility in a timely manner. Reports complaints and problems with products, services, and

Job Description

Merchandise Reconciliation Associate conditions in the stocking/receiving area. Uses stocking/receiving supplies and equipment in safe and correct ways.

Leads Claims Operations:Helps Associates understand and apply safe and correct ways to process claims goods, work with Vendors, and prepare and maintain reports. Ensures timely processing of claims processing procedures for damaged, defective, returned, and liquidated goods. Identifies vendor issues, poor claims practices, and problems with merchandise processing and reports them with ideas for corrective action. Ensures associates manage hazardous waste per company policies/procedures. Verifies associates count merchandise and process shipments and credits correctly and uses the practices in own work.

Uses policies and information in order to exceed customer/member expectations. Work Environment

Moves through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks of merchandise or supplies, storage areas, and closets.

Moves over sloping, uneven surfaces such as the parking lot, building perimeter, receiving bays, sections of the facility which have temporary cracks, or areas under repair.

Moves over slippery surfaces in the work area as well as other areas that may become slippery during inclement weather.

May work with substances that require special handling

Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
