What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at Walnic Services?
As an Electro-Mechanical Assembler in our fast-paced and dynamic production team, you will be directly involved in assembling, testing, and reworking electro-mechanical systems with a focus on quality and precision. You’ll also play a key role in packing final products for shipment, ensuring everything is secure and ready to go. Key Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
- Assemble electro-mechanical systems using wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Solder components, crimp wires, and fasten mechanical parts.
- Perform mechanical assembly including installation of components into enclosures.
- Utilize power and hand tools, including drills, screwdrivers, and specialized assembly tools.
- Inspect and identify faulty units during assembly and testing processes.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components, identifying root causes of issues.
- Conduct functional tests on completed assemblies to verify proper operation.
- Calibrate devices and fine-tune systems as necessary for full functionality.
- Record test results and document any discrepancies, ensuring that all parts are within specifications.
- Inspect, package, and prepare units for shipment, ensuring products are properly protected during transit.
- Work with logistics and shipping teams to ensure that products are shipped efficiently and on time.
- Follow safety and quality protocols to ensure that items are safely and securely packed.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly, rework, and testing procedures.
- Document issues found during testing and rework, as well as corrective actions taken.
- Complete reports and maintain data on units tested, repaired, and shipped.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and electronic testing devices.
- High level of precision and attention to detail, ensuring that all components are correctly assembled, tested, and packaged.
- Ability to catch small defects during assembly and rework.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and fix issues in both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Creative thinking for resolving assembly or functional issues on the fly.
- Clear communication skills to report issues, progress, and work with the team.
- Ability to document processes and procedures with clarity and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 40 lbs) as needed.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations for assembly and packing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with soldering, crimping, and other electronic assembly techniques.
- Prior experience in a packing or shipping role, preferably in manufacturing or electronics.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and product testing equipment.
