What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Systems Engineer position at Walrath Recruiting, Inc.?
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish control system architectures and strategies for machines, processes, and automation systems.
- Develop, document, and implement software for machine control, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems, including hands-on commissioning and debugging.
- Facilitate customer and supplier discussions regarding control systems, interfaces, and integration, including travel (up to 30%) for on-site commissioning and support.
- Provide technical support to diagnose and correct control-related issues on installed equipment and during factory/site acceptance testing.
- Generate content, including text and screenshots, for operations sections of maintenance manuals.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, project planning, and maintaining documentation for control systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering is required.
- 2 years of experience in control systems engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with programming commercial robots (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka) and designing electrical schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite with a solid understanding of computer hardware, system architecture, and communications.
