We're seeking highly motivated individuals to join our harvest team at Walsh Family Wine.
About Us
Established in 2018, we specialize in crafting high-quality Virginia wines for our winery and numerous clients across the state. Our operations span over 60 acres of vines in Loudoun County, dedicated exclusively to premium winemaking.
Harvest Internship Overview
This internship offers a comprehensive learning experience, covering cellar, lab, and vineyard work. You'll have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including:
- Winery sanitation and cleaning
- Fruit reception, sorting, and processing
- Crush equipment operation and maintenance
- Punch downs and pump overs
- Racking and wine transfer
- Barrel filling, topping, stirring, and racking
- Draining tanks, digging out pomace, and pressing pomace
- Potential transition to wine labwork
- Other tasks as necessary
Position Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Ability to work early mornings or evenings, occasionally 5-6 days a week
- Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights
- Basic understanding of winemaking practices
- Physical stamina to bend, squat, stand for extended periods, and climb stairs, catwalks, and ladders
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Capacity to work with chemicals requiring protective equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.)
- Previous harvest experience is a plus
- Reliable transportation and eligibility to work in the United States
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
What We Offer
