Walsh Jesuit High School, a Catholic college-preparatory high school in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, held its first classes in 1965 and continues to reach beyond academic excellence to develop competence, conscience, and compassion within its students while teaching them to actively engage with their community as men and women for others. To support this important mission, we are currently seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications professional to create and implement communications, marketing, and public relations activities and materials for all areas of the school.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations or a related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with school representatives, parents, students, alumni, donors and representatives from the business community
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and activities simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail
  • Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life
  • Experience working in Catholic/Christian educational institutions or non-profit settings preferred


Essential duties of this position include:

Marketing & Branding

  • Develops, implements and manages an overarching marketing strategy to promote and position the Walsh Jesuit High School brand
  • Establishes brand guidelines representative of best practices in marketing and communications and ensures compliance with these standards
  • Creates, develops, and executes all strategic marketing plans to achieve the school’s vision of creating external brand awareness throughout the region
  • Works with staff to develop strategic marketing plans to recruit students
  • Designs, writes, and produces school-wide publications including two printed issues of Warrior Paths per year and multiple digital Warrior Paths editions per year
  • Works closely with school staff on key outreach and visibility opportunities. Departments such as Enrollment, Athletics, Mission, Advancement and others
  • Creates and stewards new community partners to enhance the Walsh Jesuit brand, raises awareness and brings in new resources


Public/Media Relations & Communications

  • Manages of a comprehensive media relations program that includes both proactive and reactive tactics designed to protect, support and enhance Walsh Jesuit’s image and awareness, reinforcing the key messages and organization’s goals
  • Establishes tactics and coaching techniques to assist leaders in addressing media coverage effectively
  • Develops tailored media responses to crises to communicate clearly and confidently while minimizing adverse impacts on the school
  • Establishes, leverages and maintains relationships with local and national media outlets to effectively position and raise the positive awareness level of Walsh Jesuit High School


Internal Communications

  • Serves as the central hub for internal/interdepartmental communications at Walsh Jesuit. Works with the President and Principal’s offices to ensure all messages are shared consistently to all external and internal stakeholders
  • Oversees the flow of information through Walsh Jesuit, including content and messaging that aligns with the mission and goals of the school
  • Develops and executes Walsh Jesuit’s internal communications strategy
  • Promotes the Walsh Jesuit brand clearly & consistently to keep staff well informed and effective as the school’s best brand ambassadors


Administration

  • Reviews and signs off on all organizational publications; provides assistance and feedback as needed regarding brand compliance, style, content, tone and writing
  • Serves as a contributing member of the Marketing and Communications Board Committee
  • Supervises and manages staff who administer and coordinate Walsh Jesuit’s presence on social media
  • Performs strategic analysis to maximize the impact of marketing outreach to desired demographics for admissions and enrollment
  • Oversees the administration and hiring of outside vendors for marketing needs, including design and printing
  • Manages an annual budget in line with school priorities and successfully implements strategic plans to meet established goals and objectives
  • Recruits, mentors, develops, and retains top talent
