Position Summary
Performs skilled mechanical and electrical work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment, furnishings and fixtures across campus. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs preventative and condition-based maintenance to support repairs and maintenance of facilities and assets across campus.
- Supports the efforts of the Maintenance Department in various trade-work such as plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry and other duties as assigned.
- Reading (e.g., technical manuals), writing, (e.g., work logs), and accurately follow oral, written, and graphic instructions
- Diagnosing problems and determining appropriate action
- Reads and utilizes one-line-diagrams, blue prints and drawings to perform required maintenance and troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
- Working knowledge of testing and repair tools and equipment
- Familiarity with basic computer programs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexible schedule
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
- Two or more years of qualified experience preferred.
Skills and abilities:
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Acceptable driving record, and valid driver’s license required.

- Noise levels in work environments may be/are occasionally loud.
