Position: Varsity Field Hockey Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The head field hockey coach is responsible for all aspects of the program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising and planning practice sessions and game contests; safety and supervision of student athletes at all practice sessions, travel to away contests; in locker rooms and all training facilities; verifying eligibility of student athletes, maintaining accurate records, communicating with coaching staff, Athletic Director, and school administration.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Employees must submit to CPS background check and fingerprint screening, all employees and volunteers must complete VIRTUS: Protecting God's Children training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
--At least two years prior coaching experience
--Elite level experience, playing or coaching

Walsingham Academy is a K-12 co-curricular Mercy school. Its teams play in the highly competitive TCIS conference. The program has a strong history of support and success and finished last season as state runner-up for D2 private schools.
Coaches at Walsingham Academy perform a crucial function in supplementing the education of children who attend our school. Our robust athletic department helps in the development of the minds, bodies, and characters of our students, and coaches, like teachers in the classroom, serve as guides and mentors to this process. To coach one of the athletic teams at Walsingham Academy, an individual must demonstrate a caring and nurturing attitude toward young people and must seek to provide a positive but challenging learning environment for our athletes to develop the ability to push themselves and their teammates to achieve their goals through hard work, discipline, and a positive attitude. Coaches at Walsingham Academy must demonstrate knowledge in their particular sport and must be able to transmit that knowledge to athletes under their charge.
