POSITION TITLE: ELECTRONICS TECH
REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
DATE: 08/24/2021
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex electrical and electronic components in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications. Job duties will be performed on 2nd or 3rd shift and may require overtime in addition to the standard 40-hour work week.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Test faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of electric and electronic units as well as systems to diagnose cause of malfunction.
- Print, read, and understand machinery manuals and manufacturer specifications.
- Requires advanced trouble shooting skills.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines plantwide.
- Minimize machine downtime across all departments.
- Communicate with incoming shift all maintenance related issues to assure smooth shift transition and minimal down time.
- Assist with machine installations and re-locations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Equivalent to 2 years of technical or university education.
- Over 2 years and up to 5 years’ experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- Ability to use advanced mathematics involved in applying engineering principles and performing related practical operations.
- Able to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Communicate effective and professionally (both verbally and in writing) with others inside and outside the organization.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Medium effort to repair equipment equivalent to lifting or moving average weight material.
- Exposure to noise, oil, grease, and chemicals.
- Ability to work overtime and weekend schedules.
