- Must have good general understanding of all editorial equipment in editorial suite
- Works with Editor on planning organization of Avid media, setting up projects and labeling of Avid bins
- Puts in progress work flow procedures to help expedite work during crunch periods
- Be aware and on top of movement of sketch from story department and schedule work accordingly
- Ability to Cut temp sound effects for the Lead Editor
- Manages all work coming in and out of room and take responsibility for completion of tasks and quality of outputs
- Manages other assistants by assigning tasks and checking work
- Makes sure Editors have all appropriate media
- Be point person for requests coming through Editorial and help prioritize workload
- Makes sure room is ready with materials for all editorial and review sessions
- Sends dialogue, effects, and music to sound server for animators
- Supports scratch recording sessions by sending picture reference when appropriate
- Helps input and output all media
- Work with 2nd Assistant on making sure bins are organized and unnecessary media is offline
- Generates correct cut lists
- Helps download animation tests from server for cutting into reel
- Generates cuts and composition exports for Music Editor, Producer, Animators, Composers, and Sound Editor
- Works with Story PDM, Editorial Production Supervisor, and Editor on schedule to plan and prep for screenings
- Issues EDL and composition to Software and Post Production to enable loading of reels from the main server
- Assist Post Director/ Coordinator in checking and reviewing of reels prior to screenings and previews
- Carries out editorial notes generated by Editorial Production Supervisor in the Avid
- Informs Editorial Production Supervisor when a sequence is ready for “starts and stops”
- Complete “starts and stops” with the Editorial PS
- Keeps PS informed of footage changes so Shotgun can be updated
- Keeps PS informed of any technical difficulties which could affect a screening or editorial session
- Works with the PS in scheduling Director to review music cuts from the Music Editor and makes sure Music Editor has updated material and elements
- Works with the PS in prioritizing production requests and discussing delivery schedules
- Gets daily schedule and changes from the PS and adjust workload to prioritize accordingly
- Works on long term scheduling plan with the Editorial PS, Editor, and Post Executive
- Issues final EDL and compositions from locked reels to the Post Director/ Coordinator
- Sends required materials to sound effects editor and music editor
- Sends change notes when necessary
- Helps editor and PS with optical order to be handled in Production
- Wraps up editing room and log AVID deliverables through Archival to required Disney specifications
- 3 years experience in an Editorial Feature Film or Series form Capacity
- 2 years Editorial experience in Feature or Series, Long or Short form, Animated productions
- Advance technical knowledge of AVID Media Composer
- Understanding of Animation pre-production, production and post production processes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Digital Media, related field or equivalent work experience
