The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $85,800 to $115,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

As an Environmental Specialist you will monitor the impact of human activities on the environment, identify environmental issues, and recommend solutions.
The Environmental Specialist will report to the Manager Facilities & Operations.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do:
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental statutes and regulations.
- Implement rules and regulations of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
- Handle storage and disposal of Hazardous Waste – sort, condense, categorize, and label containers.
- Inspect and maintain chemical/e-waste/satellite storage areas.
- Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste pickups.
- Identify appropriate waste streams.
- Collaborate with Disney partners and vendors to meet current Disney environmental goals.
- Inventory Hazardous and non-hazardous Waste at multiple locations.
- Verify and sign Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests and applicable paperwork. Collaborate with Disney Environmental Affairs as necessary.
- Record and complete reports for material usage for spray booths for SCAQMD.
- Review and approve all chemicals on property for environmental regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with safety team for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) approvals.
- Meet with regulatory inspectors and fire marshal to continually maintain compliance and be the contact for environmental-related investigations.
- Maintain an updated master list of SDS.
- Maintain the Hazard Communication program for division.
- Actively participate in site safety/facility committees.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental business
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification or refresh training upon hire
- Valid State-issued Driver’s license
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Federal EPA and state/city specific regulations in the specified geographic area
- Able to use knowledge to develop solutions aligning with major responsibilities of the role and business operations
- Experience driving a forklift- preferred
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with demonstrable application in root cause assessment
- Able to function efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to manage small projects with attention to detail and prioritization
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- College degree in environmental studies or related field is preferred
