Parts Advisor Job Description
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish, ensuring seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with staff and customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Provide clear, efficient communication regarding customer parts status and updates.
- Read and understand parts catalogs to identify specific parts accurately.
- Handle phone calls, provide price quotes, and offer other relevant information to customers.
- Pull and fill orders from stock while maintaining weekly bin checks for accuracy.
- Alert the Parts Manager to out-of-stock parts or materials that need urgent attention.
- Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and place emergency orders when necessary.
- Ensure all parts requests are billed correctly on service repair orders.
- Collect payment from retail customers or obtain necessary credit authorization.
