Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping and Warehouse Manager to oversee our shipping and logistics operations. This will include overseeing both a day shift and a night shift. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Manage both day shift and overnight shipping teams, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance performance.
- Oversee the logistics of freight movement, including coordination with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Implement process improvements to optimize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping transactions and inventory levels using AS400 or similar systems.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling and storage of products prior to shipment.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the shipping department.
- Analyze shipping metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in logistics operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a shipping or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of materials management, operations management, and supply chain principles.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems or similar warehouse management software is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
- Experience in freight logistics, including understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
