Job Description: Retail Floral Driver
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Retail Floral Driver. As a Retail Floral Driver, you will be responsible for delivering floral arrangements and related products to customers in a timely and professional manner. You get to deliver Smiles.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely transportation of delicate and perishable items while consistently delivering exceptional customer service. While being a safe and efficient driver is crucial, equally important is your ability to engage with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
This role requires flexibility and a willingness to handle a variety of tasks beyond driving. Responsibilities may include shoveling snow, washing vehicles, stocking merchandise for both retail and wholesale clients, and other duties that support the dynamic operations of a flower shop.
This position is not suited for individuals seeking solely a driving role. Instead, we’re looking for a team player who embraces the diverse challenges of a flower shop with enthusiasm and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
1. Safely and efficiently deliver floral arrangements, plants, and other retail products to customers' designated locations.
2. Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care of fragile items.
3. Coordinate delivery routes and schedules to optimize time management and ensure on-time deliveries.
4. Use GPS or navigation tools to follow the most efficient routes to customers' locations.
5. Review delivery orders, invoices, and customers' special instructions to ensure accurate and complete deliveries.
6. Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate supervisor.
7. Assist with packaging, labeling, and organizing floral arrangements and related products in the store as needed.
8. Provide excellent customer service, answering customer inquiries and resolving any delivery-related issues or concerns.
9. Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle, ensuring it is stocked with delivery supplies like vases, cardholders, and ribbons.
10. Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
11. After each stop using your personal cell phone. Notify the recipient of the delivery and log that the delivery has been completed. Walter Knoll Florist does give a reimbursement for the use of your cell phone.
12. Help where & when asked by the store managers' in-store operations
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. All professional drivers need a Missouri Class E “Chauffeur” License or equivalent from another state
3. Previous experience as a delivery driver preferred, especially in home deliveries.
4. Excellent knowledge of local areas, streets, and traffic patterns.
5. Strong customer service and communication skills.
6. Ability to lift and carry heavy or bulky items, up to 50 pounds. (Most gifts are under 15 pounds)
7. Good organizational and time-management skills.
8. Attention to detail and ability to handle delicate items with care.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet delivery deadlines.
10. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. (Saturdays are our busiest day of the week.)
