We are seeking an experienced creative and forward-thinking Senior Photography Agent to

develop our growing roster of talented artists and help drive new business opportunities.

Your Role :

As a Senior Photography Agent for Walter Schupfer Management you will be responsible for

managing and supporting an accomplished selection of established and emerging multitalented

photographer-film makers, who specialize in photography and direction for TV and

film advertising, securing commissions and actively growing the client base across the

entertainment sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing original photography and AV commissions

from inception through to final delivery. A proactive self-starter, you will seek out new

opportunities for both represented artists, and the agency as a whole with guidance from the

Managing Director in Los Angeles and senior leaders in New York.

The candidate must work to develop current relationships and new opportunities for

photographers and other represented artists, as well as create new business strategies for

marketing and sales to support US and overseas growth initiatives. The candidate must have

proven artist management and / or production experience with successful working

photographers, entertainment advertising or creative management experience at a major

studio, network or streamer. As well as solid industry contacts and relationships in the US.

Day To Day :

Representation of high-caliber photographers and development of rising stars. You will offer

guidance and growth to our artists and help the roster navigate industry change, while building

on their current skills. This includes the creation of portfolios and presentations, feeding back

on work, identifying new opportunities, communicating with artists regularly; managing artists'

calendars and collaborating with photographers to interpret briefs and develop treatments.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will also play a pivotal role in our business growth –

lead client presentations, identify and pursue new opportunities leveraging your extensive list

of existing clients and contacts to help drive new revenue and client relations. Furthermore :

  • Fully support the needs of WSM international artists, including marketing, budget

negotiations in collaboration with producers and accounting matters

  • Support senior leadership team to help develop WSM artists to ensure their work is top
  • of mind with key influencers and decision makers in the entertainment industry

  • Lead negotiations in artist fees and deals
  • Manage photography sales and commissions
  • Secure commercial opportunities within the entertainment sector in line with long-term
  • business objectives

  • Deal with copyright, licensing and usage inquires
  • Tactfully manage and develop relationships with clients, brands and creative agencies
  • Provide concise and creative long-term sales strategies for photographers’ career
  • development including support for editorial and personal projects

  • Strategize, create and implement regular outreach including researching the latest
  • industry and creative trends and keeping on top of key business decision maker

    movements while developing and nurturing client relationships

  • Find and secure new photographic talent
  • Collaborate with the leadership in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris and Milan
  • to seek out new opportunities for both WSM artists, and the agency as a whole

  • Actively serve as a resource for both clients and artists. Facilitate communication among
  • artists, producers, and clients as needed to ensure a positive experience for all

  • Field a large volume of inquiries and licensing requests
  • Partner with artists to license their existing artwork in support of campaigns and
  • creative messaging

  • Commit to attend industry events in order to align artists with key industry influencers
  • Drive clear and consistent communication with the artists and broader team
  • Act as a champion of brand standards in all aspects of creative work, artist management
  • and agency communication

  • Serve as the bridge between the creative and brand teams, as well as other internal and
  • external business partners with specific business or communication goals

    Who You Are :

  • At least 5 years of experience in an agent / producer / creative management position at
  • a leading commercial photographic agency, production company, creative

    entertainment agency, or in-house marketing, communications or creative services

    department at a major studio, network or streamer

  • Experienced liaising directly with clients to receive briefs and negotiate terms – the ideal
  • candidate has a track record of managing large scale projects with a meticulous eye for

    detail

  • Dedicated to advocating for diverse voices and unique storytelling
  • Strong background in TV and film with a proven track record of high value commissions
  • or extensive creative management with a strong understating of artist deal structures

    and existing relationships with decision makers at studios, networks, production and

    distribution companies, creative agencies and entertainment publications in the US

  • Of an entrepreneurial mind-set with a strong work ethic, team player and collaborative
  • approach who can lead projects and motivate team members with an indirect reporting

    style

  • Has the ability to work with the team to explore and identify new up-and-coming
  • photographers & artists, production partners and creative talent

  • You are technology focused with strong communication, negotiation skills and
  • impeccably organized

  • You are skilled in nurturing creative talent and have a proven ability to effectively
  • manage relationships with existing clients

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related discipline is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and various calendar, project, financial and
  • customer relationship management programs

  • Proficient in professional creative software such as Adobe is a plus
  • Leverage existing relationships with the international production community that offer
  • an in-depth knowledge of resources, crew, locations and production vendors

  • Able to work with multiple partners and negotiate agreements where varying opinions
  • are the norm

  • Prior print and commercial production and post-production experience a plus
  • You are able to :

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with production companies, studios,
  • networks and streaming platforms across the US

  • Receive and interpret briefs and negotiate contracts, deals, and packages that maximize
  • opportunities for our artists and advocate for their creative visions

  • Offer guidance and strategic advice to clients throughout the development and
  • production stages of their projects in collaboration with our partners

  • Innovate and implement client outreach and marketing strategies for successful
  • acquisition of new business across the entertainment sector

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, market changes and new business partnership
  • opportunities

  • Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and clients
  • simultaneously

  • Solve problems creatively and are able to compromise without impacting creative
  • outputs and business relationships

  • Pivot between daily deadlines and longer-term projects, working upstream to anticipate
  • and plan for change

  • Understand the entertainment industry voice and aesthetic and can shape artist’s
  • creative output that meets the sector’s demands and expectations

  • Well versed in social media-specific concepts. With an understanding of best practice
  • for : Facebook, Instagram, X, Snapchat, and YouTube

  • Travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes with minimal notice
  • This is a full-time role in our LA office. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 9AM to

    6PM.
