POSITION: Inspector
This position is responsible for auditing the quality of drills manufactured in each step of its production.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent Paid quality and measuring training 2-week program offered
- Ability to learn to use precision measuring instruments (such as micrometers and calipers)
- Ability to retain knowledge (such as drill characteristics/terms)
- Ability to learn the manufacturing process of a drill
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify defects in manufacturing
- Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Responsibilities
- Complete 2-week quality and measuring training
- Sample product from all machines and check the product for quality compliance.
- Perform visual inspection of the drill to verify the physical appearance of the drill meets acceptable standards.
- Perform quantitative quality checks on the drills using rulers, micrometers, goniometers and Rockwell hardness testers. These quality checks on the drills are to determine if the drill meets required dimensional tolerances.
- Document results of the visual and measurement inspections.
- Inform the machine operator, group leader, or supervisor of product that does not meet required specifications.
- Communicate with machine operators when they are operating nonconforming parts.
- Perform finished product inspection when required. Documenting measurements.
- Perform inspections on returned product to determine if the product does not meet the customers specifications.
- Sample and inspect product that has been tagged as been in non-conformant. Document findings and inform the necessary personnel of the inspection findings.
- Calibrate measuring equipment e.g., micrometers etc.
- Work on quality control projects when required.
