What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Pick & Pack Associate position at Walter Surface Technologies Incorporated?
The Picking/Packing Associate will assist with a variety of tasks, including picking and packing customer orders, stocking inventory, and receiving shipments. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team to support efficient operations.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position requiring 25-30 hours per week. Our ideal schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM or 9 AM to 3 PM, but we are flexible for the right candidate. However, we do ask that your hours be consistent each week. We are also willing to accommodate school schedules or other commitments, if the required 25 hours can be worked between 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick and pack customer orders with accuracy and care to ensure quality and timely shipments
- Prepare and label packages for shipping, ensuring all items are securely packed
- Perform stocking and transfer transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Scan buggies, identify their location, and scan item numbers to ensure correct placement
- Consolidate partial packs when possible to maximize space and efficiency
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments, inspecting items for accuracy and quality
- Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
- Operate equipment, such as pallet jacks, as necessary
- Communicate any inventory discrepancies or issues to management
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock organization
- Meet productivity and accuracy goals set by management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for the duration of the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing is a plus but not required
