Walters Wholesale Electric Company, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are excited to join the electrical distribution industry.
Summary:
In the Accelerated Leadership Preparation Systems (ALPS) program, you’ll complete an intensive, hands-on 18 - 24 month sales and leadership program that consists of seven distinct phases: Warehouse, Counter Sales, Inside Sales, Project Management, Outside Sales, and Branch Operations. In each phase, you will learn at different locations within Southern California.
During the first 12 months, the program has a shared curriculum on various prerequisite subjects. At the 12-month mark, you’ll work with your manager to determine your preferred course of study and then specialize in preparing for either a sales or leadership career.
Throughout the program, you will be mentored by various industry specialists, allowing you to train with the very best! In addition, you will complete training through the National Association of Electrical Distributors as well as our very own university. Topics covered include electrical distributor operations, electricity, electrical products, customer service, communications, ethics, finance, leadership, and personal development. You’ll also receive training on our ERP system and on-site vendor training.
Requirements:
- B.A. or B.S. degree required or equivalent work experience
- Proven leadership ability
- Self-motivated with a curiosity for learning new things
- Enthusiasm for building teams and businesses
- A strong sense of teamwork and a passion for developing others
- A willingness to learn and try new things, while being flexible and adaptable
- Innovative thinking with the ability to multi-task
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to different branches across Southern California
- Prior experience in sales and customer service is strongly preferred.
- No electrical experience is needed, but is preferred.
