What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Liaison position at Waltham Public Schools?
A school-based position whose primary function is to welcome and offer support to new bilingual families, registering with WPS. Family Liaisons work directly with school staff and administration. Staff members in this role meet monthly with the Multilingual Department.
Duties shall include: Continuously working to establish a strong working relationship with staff and parents Representing the parent and/or guardians of English Language Learners (ELL) within your school community Connecting Newcomer Families with district and community resources (WPY, Welcome Center, etc)
Position: Parent Liaison Rate: $21/hour (maximum of 11 hours/month = 10 hours working directly with families and 1 hour Community of Practice Meeting with ML Department)

Qualifications: Bilingual ( Spanish ) Strong interpersonal skills Able to communicate effectively with district staff and parents via email, phone and in person Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Effective Collaborator Computer skills (email, Google Docs)
