What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional - Media position at Walton County Public Schools?
Overall Purpose
The Media Paraprofessional assists in the operation and maintenance of the media center.
Essential Functions
- Processes library books, periodicals, software, and related media materials (e.g. logging into master files; barcoding, shelving, producing required reports, etc.).
- Performs circulation activities (e.g. item check-in and check-out, prepare circulation count, lists of overdue items, etc.).
- Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant work environment and in preparing media center displays.
- Assists students and staff in locating media center resources.
- Assists students and staff with the use of instructional equipment.
- Assists with the upkeep and repair of computers, equipment in the media center, and student Chromebooks.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
60 Semester hours of college credit from an accredited educational institution or
a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
Successful experience in job related area preferred.
Technology proficiency (computers, AV, office equipment, etc.)
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and / or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
Education / Training
Maintains all licenses and certifications.
