Business Development Manager - Aerospace & Defense Tooling

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team! We are looking for individuals with a proven network of contacts or clients within the aerospace, defense, and government industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably with experience in tooling sales, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and leverage a diverse client base beyond the automotive sector, focusing on industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Government, and Energy.
  • Utilize your network to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Drive sales growth through proactive engagement with customer contacts.
  • Develop tailored sales strategies to meet client needs and exceed sales targets.
  • Prepare and present compelling responses to RFPs, RFIs, and unsolicited proposals. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are comprehensive and competitive.
  • Develop and implement strategic account and market segment plans to achieve company revenue goals.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics.
  • Represent Waltonen Engineering at industry trade shows and events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Established network of contacts outside the automotive industry, such as in aerospace, defense, government, etc.
  • Preferred experience in the aerospace or defense tooling industry.
  • Superior sales ability, management skills, and leadership qualities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Financial, business planning, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite, CRM, and social media tools 
  • A willingness to travel as necessary
