Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team! We are looking for individuals with a proven network of contacts or clients within the aerospace, defense, and government industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably with experience in tooling sales, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and leverage a diverse client base beyond the automotive sector, focusing on industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Government, and Energy.
- Utilize your network to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Drive sales growth through proactive engagement with customer contacts.
- Develop tailored sales strategies to meet client needs and exceed sales targets.
- Prepare and present compelling responses to RFPs, RFIs, and unsolicited proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are comprehensive and competitive.
- Develop and implement strategic account and market segment plans to achieve company revenue goals.
- Track and report on sales performance metrics.
- Represent Waltonen Engineering at industry trade shows and events.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience.
- Established network of contacts outside the automotive industry, such as in aerospace, defense, government, etc.
- Preferred experience in the aerospace or defense tooling industry.
- Superior sales ability, management skills, and leadership qualities
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Financial, business planning, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
- Expertise in Microsoft Suite, CRM, and social media tools
- A willingness to travel as necessary
