What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional (CDEB) position at Walworth County?
Assume responsibilities of the classroom teacher or paraprofessional. Such responsibilities may include:
Assisting in the classroom in large and small groups with varied activities.
Carrying out instructional programs and lessons.
Assisting students in special areas such as swimming, music and speech.
Supervising and assisting students in the washroom.
Supervising and assisting students on and off of the school buses.
Serving, feeding and assisting students at the lunch table.
Supervising outdoor recess.
Licensure Pathways:
A. To join our school community as a Substitute Teacher you are required to complete one of the following pathways:
1. Hold a 2-year Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university and complete an approved Substitute Training Program.
2. Be enrolled in an Educator Preparation Program (junior status), be at least 20 years of age, and have completed 15 hours of classroom observation.

B. To join our school community as a Substitute Paraprofessional you must be at least 18 years of age.
