What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Content Creator position at Walz Tetrick Advertising?
We’re a small, nimble team that builds brands through the power of social media. Our content isn’t just pretty - it performs. We’re not chasing perfect lighting or polished scripts. We’re chasing real engagement, relevance, and results. We move fast, we think social-first, and we know that good content is both high-quality and high-quantity. If you're someone who can shoot, edit, and publish thumb-stopping content all from your phone—this is your role.
This is a first-of-its-kind position at our agency—built to meet the demand for speed, agility, and real-time content production that creative team structures can’t always accommodate.
We’re looking for a social-native Content Creator who can own the full content production pipeline—from concepting the idea to final edit—at speed and at scale. You should be an expert in capturing and editing short-form video content (think Reels, TikToks, Stories, Shorts) using a phone-first, low-lift setup. You live and breathe trends. You know what’s going viral. And you can replicate that energy for brands with a quick turnaround time, without sacrificing quality.
\n- Concept, shoot, edit, design and deliver social-first content—fast. Create content that makes impactful connections with consumers, measured by attention metrics (likes, comments, etc).
- Keep a pulse on trending formats, sounds and formats across social platforms.
- Tap into trends quickly, creating reactive content that aligns with brand voice and audience behavior.
- Film both organic and UGC-style content that feels native to each platform | Edit in apps like CapCut, InShot, or native platform tools
- Cull for insights based on real-time response/reaction to live content on social pages, and adapt content based on these learnings
- Collaborate with your teammates and cross-functional departments on rapid fire requests and tight turnaround timelines
- Attend creative brainstorms, kick offs, and team meetings contributing ideas and design strategy formulation | Jump into content calendars with fresh ideas and creative storytelling formats
- 3-5 years of hands-on professional experience creating content specifically for social media
- Proficiency in phone-based shooting, natural lighting, and audio hacks
- DSLR experience preferred as well
- Expert in mobile-first editing tools like CapCut, InShotor Canva
- Proficient in Adobe Suite for editing – Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
- Comfort in high-speed, high-volume production environments
- Proven ability to make content that feels native, not like an ad
- Solid understanding of what works (and what doesn’t) on TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts
- Ability to balance creative storytelling with platform performance trends
- Self-starter who can manage projects independently and juggle multiple timelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—you’re a team player who’s fun to work with ·
- Have a portfolio that includes lo-fi, vertical, social-native content
- Have experience working in creator or UGC-style production
- Know how to measure content performance and optimize creative accordingly
- Are active on social and post your own content regularly
